EOIR Slow and Steady Simulation

QuestionHow do I increase complexity and fidelity to my EOIR Simulation?
This is a sample paradigm to slowly increase the complexity and fidelity of your EOIR simulations.

STK's EOIR capability gives you the ability to model detection, tracking, and imaging performance of your system. The tool uses a physics-based environment to accurately model the interactions of sensors, targets, and their environments. EOIR is capable of modeling systems in space, on the ground, and in the air.

With all these high-performance abilities, there are a few "gotchas" you have to consider. This article walks you through building an STK scenario using EOIR best practices, the goal being to ease any frustration that may come up when working with this high-fidelity capability. First will be a simple setup. Then you will increase the complexity of the analysis, eventually covering three main factors that can speed up the analysis as well as provide computation-time estimates for varying complexity levels.

To get started, you need to know how to best model your analysis. It can be tricky to find a best approach when modeling a complex system, so AGI recommends breaking it down into three major steps:
  1. Sensor
  2. Target
  3. Bells and Whistles
At a high level, this sounds straightforward, but what about the detailed sensor parameters, your target's behavior, and all those bells and whistles? How do each of these details affect the analysis time? What is the best methodology for building a custom scenario, and how should you incorporate custom systems into STK? To learn more, read the attached PDF.
